Once again the children of Lordsgate have made us all proud by showing their support and understanding of the Anti-bullying Theme which this year was ‘All different, All equal’. To start the week off this message was reinforced through worship and through the children wearing different coloured/odd socks. This helped children to understand that we all like different things and can look different too and this should be accepted and respected.
Also on Tuesday Mr Jaeger led an assembly on E-safety and Cyberbullying, the children were given the massage of ‘Zip it, block it, flag it’, in other words children should understand not to respond to malicious messages, know how to block a sender and also to tell an adult if they are being bullied on-line.
Finally in Friday’s star assembly we shared some of the activities we had been doing in class such during the week such as:
Reception—shared a song they had created about being a good friend.
Y1/Y2—Shared some art work with different fish in the ocean with the message even though we are all different we swim in the same direction.
Y3/Y4—Had a similar message with a jigsaw analogy—each piece being different but fitting together perfectly.
Y5/Y6—Had created anti-bullying posters, cyberbullying information sheets and art work.
