On Tuesday 14th March eight children who are top of our in-school ‘Chess Challenge’ competition were chosen to represent Lordsgate in a friendly Chess match against St John’s C.E. Primary. All the games were very evenly matched and it was good to see the children playing with focus, concentration and determination. Of the thirty-three games played during the evening we won 16, drew 8 and lost 9; a good result!
Well played Sam Grimes, Thomas Kilburn, Benjamin Paul, Thomas Helme, Toby Kershaw, Cameron Groome, Luke Walker and Thomas Formby. Thanks to the parents who helped walk the children down to St John’s with Mr Hackett.
