Church School Inspection Report

I am delighted to announce the publication of of our Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools report following Mr Graham’s visit on Thursday 9th July.  The headline is that:

‘The distinctiveness and effectiveness of Lordsgate Primary as a Church of England school are outstanding’

Mr Graham goes on to grade meeting the needs of the learners, collective worship, Religious Education and Leadership and Management as Outstanding.  We are of course all thrilled with the report as it is a celebration of all the teachers, governors, non-teaching staff , church members and children’s work to embed our Christian values into  school life.  This is recognised  by Mr Graham who says  ‘Success has been achieved through exemplary teamwork, with the whole staff group united with the headteacher and governors to bring Christian values into every aspect of school life’ and ‘The school’s loving and caring Christian ethos creates a secure and joyful context within which the children are enabled to give of their best.’.  The report indicates that our Christian ethos does have an impact on both academic and spiritual development stating ‘The rate of progress for children of all abilities is excellent.  Attainment in most areas is above the national average.  A significant contributory factor is the way in which the Christian character of the school supports the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of all the children to excellent effect.’  He also notes the impact of the Christian character on behaviour in the school saying ‘The children’s behaviour is impeccable and relationships amongst all members of the school community demonstrate Christian values superbly.’  Finally  the report recognises the support and close partnership we receive from St Johns church with the line ‘Partnerships and deep friendships with the local church, diocese and the wider community, are strong and mutually beneficial.  My personal thanks go out to all the parents and children who spoke to the inspector and for the church and staff team for all their hard work towards this wonderful report.  A full copy of the report can be found in the 'Key Information' section of the website.
