Diversity Awareness Assembly
During Star assembly at the end of Diversity Awareness Week the children shared the range of work that had been completed on the theme. In a truly inspiring assembly I couldn’t help but feel very proud that the children had clearly understood the significance of our visitors over the week and appreciated the message that we are all special. The contributions of each class were :
Reception— Shared photos of our visitors
Year 1—Silhouettes of children with lovely written work entitled ‘ I am different because . . . .’
Year 2—Wrote our end of assembly prayer with the message that we are all special in our own way and treat people as you wish to be treated
Year 3—A poster celebrating our differences
Year 4—Haiku poems about diversity, disability and our Christian Values
Year 5—Sang ‘A Wonderful World’ accompanied by Mr Jaeger on guitar
Year 6—Fantastic poetry reflecting on the whole theme.
