We were delighted to host a concert at Lordsgate school featuring the Pearl of Africa Choir on our return from half term. This is the third occasion we have hosted an event involving the Choir. It was great to see so many of our community at the concert particularly our parents and children. The purpose of the concert was to raise money for the Molly and Paul childcare foundation which supports several schools in Uganda and provides much needed education, medicines and clean water for children there. I am delighted to say that in total we raised £670 for the charity. The highlight of the evening was eleven children from Lordsgate taking to the stage with the Pearl of Africa Choir to sing ‘Imela’. The children showed great bravery to sing in front of so many people and with so little preparation with the choir. It was a truly memorable moment and we are very proud of the children who took part. Well done to Arlo L, Charlotte K, Annie H, Georgia F, Aimee N, Lucy G, Eva R, James M, Jack G, Gracie B, Holly N, Ewan E and Joshua P.
