Pearl of Africa Choir Visit

Pearl of Africa Choir—Friday 24th  October

On Friday 24th of October we were visited by the world renowned Pearl of Africa Choir. The day ended with a  special assembly where we were amazed by the fantastic and energetic children of the choir.  Our children were treated to some excellent work shops run by the children of the Pearl of Africa choir during the day.  Y1 received a singing workshop, Y2 a dance workshop and Y5 and Y6 combination of singing and dancing  The children were then able to perform elements of the  songs and dance they had learnt at the assembly.  I was very impressed with the confidence and teaching ability of the Pearl of Africa Choir children and very proud of the way our children responded in their workshops and in the performance.   The money donated to the Pearl of Africa Childcare foundation helps to provide better education, health care and food for the children in the six Ugandan schools that the choir represents.  Special thanks to Mrs Hughes who gave up her Friday afternoon to support the event and help our school choir deliver a welcome song to the Pearl of Africa Choir.
