To ‘kick-off’ our year of reading we have utilised Miss Bateman's expertise to promote the use of our school library with a particular focus on Roald Dahl, as it was officially Roald Dahl Day on Friday 13th September. Children enjoyed activities such as reading extracts from books, making the BFG’s ears, Mr Twit’s beard and devising one of ‘George’s Marvellous Medicines’. The children in Y5 and Y6 also compared themselves with characters from Roald Dahl books! The children really enjoyed all the activities which we celebrated in Star Assembly. Our thanks go to Miss Bateman for organising and running the activities. The kitchen also provided a special Roald Dahl meal on Tuesday.
