Harvest Service—Friday 17th October
We had a fantastic Harvest service which incorporated our curriculum strand of God's love for others through the wonderful donations we received. Our Service also supported our theme of ‘love for the world’ through consideration of the journey our food has to take to get to our dinner plates. We thanked God, for his hand in each part of the process. . . . .
Reception thanked God for His creation. He made the world for us to look after and created plants and animals to be our food.
Year 1 sang a song and shared information about planting seeds.
Year 4 thanked God for the rain and the sun and the soil to grow seeds in.
Year 5 produced wonderful artwork and a lovely poem about harvesting the land and the seas.
Year 3 shared an A to Z of how food is produced in our factories.
Year 2 said thank you for our food through artwork and a lovely song.
Year 6 have been learning about global warming and our carbon footprint. As part of their science studies. They shared what they had been learning and also discussed the problems of food waste, an issue we have been tackling in school recently.
Well done everyone, thank you to our Junior Choir for another great performance and a special well done to our new reception class for their wonderful first performance in our church.
