Year 1

Welcome to Y1's Class Page!

Thank you for taking the time to look through our page- here you will find all of the information you will need as well as our weekly homework.

Miss Teague and Mrs Hillman work in Y1 with the fantastic children!

PE days are Tuesday and Wednesday (please ensure their PE kit is in school on these days and earrings are removed)

We also complete the daily mile every day on our running track. This track allows the children to stay safe, clean and dry from the muddy grass when completing their daily mile therefore they will be fine running in their school shoes.

Children must bring in their reading folder every day please. Reading books go out on a Monday and can be changed on a Wednesday and Friday if needed. Please read with your child for at least 10 minutes a day and record in their diary what they have read and how they have read which supports us in the classroom. We shall be sending 2 books home from Autumn 2.

Homework goes out on a Friday and must be returned the following Wednesday please. Our spelling test will be every Friday. We shall also be asking the children to practice their number work by counting in 1's 2's 5's or 10's and will be testing them on this every Friday alongside their spellings.

This week...

Week 4 of Autumn 2- It has been a very interesting week there have been some strange happenings in school, ask your children all about it. All of our work has been focussed around solving and investigating the mystery that we faced on Monday morning. The children have explored and thought superbly this week about all things frogs!!

Have a lovely weekend :)

We went on an Autumn walk looking and spotting signs of autumn and looked for mini beasts in our forest school area.

This was one of our Passport tasks.

Allday's Farm came into school to show us and speak to us about animals. We have been learning about carnivores, herbivores and omnivores in the classroom and it was great to see these animals in real life. We fed some animals, stroked some animals and held some animals. It was a great morning had by all of Year 1 and Reception.

Thank you Allday's Farm :)
