Toe by Toe is an intervention programme designed to support any child who has difficulty in decoding (reading unfamiliar words confidently and accurately) or reading fluently (reading without pausing or hesitating when confronted by an unfamiliar word) to improve their reading skills. It is delivered to individual children. The programme is delivered daily for up to 20 minutes. It takes approximately five to six months to complete the entire programme.
