Thu 06 Jul 2023 Mrs Robinson

Another fun packed day here at PGL. After a big breakfast the children spent the morning doing two activities out of Zip Wire, Survival Skills and Buggy Building. After lunch all the groups joined together to build rafts and then sail them! Lots of fun was has by all, the children do like to make sure everyone gets wet! This class are all amazing eaters and enjoy the variety of salads and fruit on offer. We are now enjoying a Silent Disco that is not so silent with all the singing!

  • Y6 PGL Residential Day 3

Wed 05 Jul 2023 Mr Hackett

Another great day , weather continues to be fine - no rain showers as yet.  Some groups completed the challenge course and puzzle park from yesterdays activities.  Our new challenge for today was 'Jacob's Ladder', children showed excellent team work to pull classmates to the top of the giant ladder. This afternoon was canoeing on the lovely little river which runs through the site.  Children enjoyed the peaceful paddle followed by a crazy ending getting soaked.  We have just competed tea and are preparing for our evening activity - Capture the Flag.  Everyone doing great, we are impressed with their resilience, bravery and enthusiasm.

  • Y6 PGL Residential Day 2

Tue 04 Jul 2023 Mr Hackett

An action packed day of activities on day 2 of PGL.  Groups have taken on the Trapeze Challenge - otherwise known as the 'leap of faith' - this was a favourite of many children.  Another favourite was the climbing wall , with many children reaching the top of the tower.  Other activities have included sensory trail, problem solving, challenge course and high ropes.  The children all slept well in their rooms and are really enjoying the PGL food.  This evening the day was rounded off with a fun campfire experience with lots of songs and of course toasted marshmellows.  Children are just setting down for the night - a lot of tired children!!  Looking forward to our first wet activity tomorrow - canoing on the lake.

  • Y6 PGL Residential Day 1

Mon 03 Jul 2023 Mr Hackett

Y6 set off at lunchtime for their five day residential at PGL Boreatton Hall, Shropshire.  After a very smooth and uneventful journey we arrived on site at 2.30pm and were quickly familiarised with our accommodation.  Before tea children got a full tour of the site and played games in front of our cabins led by our 'groupie' Bella.  All the children ate well and there were lots of empty plates including Ebony's (she told me to say that mum!).  Our evening activity was 'Passport to the World', a sort of orienteering activity to find flags and information about different countries.  This seems to have tired the children out and they are settled in rooms ready for bed!  A great first day.
